For 30 years, I’ve collected ideas that inspire and challenge me—from books, podcasts, and conversations with coaches, leaders, and speakers across many walks of life. Keeping them to myself now feels foolish. So I won’t.

There’s a reason I read so many of those books with a fluorescent pen in hand, highlighting passages I knew I’d want to revisit. Today, that practice lives on in my growing “Quotes and Reminders” document, built page by page over the years.

This is Year 2 of See, Live, Eat. Each December, I share 20 Quotes to Remember.

You learn that no matter how hard you try to please, some people in this world are not going to love you, a lesson that is at first troubling and then really quite relaxing.” - John W. Gardner

This is how you do it: Every time you find yourself irritated or angry with someone, the one to look at is not that person but yourself. The question to ask is not, ‘What’s wrong with this person?’ but ‘What does this irritation tell me about myself?’” - The Way to Love by Anthony De Mello

  16. "People are frugal in guarding their personal property; but as soon as it comes to squandering time, they are most wasteful of the one thing in which it is right to be stingy." - Seneca, On the Shortness of Life
